Former Aviation Minister Femi Fani Kayode (FFK) has claimed that foreign powers are attempting to instigate a civil war in Nigeria with the goal of eventually partitioning the country.
On Monday morning, the former Minister, who recently re-joined the ruling party, announced this on social media.
“The day Nigerians appreciate the fact that there are foreign powers and forces that seek to divide us and spark off a second civil war in our country will be the day that they would have taken their first step to national redemption. May God help us.” the former Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) spokesperson said.
Although he did not name the agents or interests he referred to in the post, the statement, however, generated both commendations and condemnation from his followers and other users.
Some of his followers accused him of unnecessarily starring the Hornet’s nest for attention while others urged security agencies to work on the information, especially considering the intensity of secession calls from different quarters of the country recently.
Remember that from 1967 to 1970, Nigeria was engulfed in a devastating Civil War between the Federal Government and Biafra secessionists, with over a million people killed.
